There are over 30 Senior Care Franchise offerings in the US alone. 30!
All 30 of these franchises have one thing in common. (Besides the fact that that their franchise owners service the senior market)
They all require heavy outbound sales. These franchises are really about sales. (You just happen to be "selling" a much-needed service)
"This is an outbound-sales type of franchise. If your visual of a Home Health Care franchise consists of watching throngs of needy clients busting through your doors anxious to do business with you, you’re going to be sorely disappointed."- From my recent post over at Business.Gov.
Now, I do understand the two dominant reasons given for going into this sector of franchising;
- The numbers. (Millions of retiring baby boomers)
- The need to help these seniors out, and make a difference
Those are great reasons, for sure. I just want to make sure that you know that although you will be getting involved with a huge demographic, (that does need the services that you'll be offering) and you will have an opportunity to make a difference, and really help others, this is a sales and relationship-building business.
30% of the folks that I'm talking with about opportunities in franchise ownership are inquiring about these franchises. Will this trend continue?
Should you choose this type of franchise to buy? Are you qualified for this type of outbound business? Is there another franchise type that's similar, but doesn't require strong sales and networking skills?
