Ann Handley is considered "One Of The 50 Most Powerful And Influential Women In Social Media." She is a great writer, and is currently the Chief Content Officer for the 300,000 + member Marketing Profs website. Ann is also a great lady, and one who I have gotten to know this past year.

Subway Franchise Owners Rejoicing! Michael Phelps To Be Spokesperson...

                     

        

Olympic record holder Michael Phelps, the only athlete to win 14 Gold Medals, has agreed to partner with Subway Restaurants to help promote their fast food brand.

"Subway restaurants have always given me the options that I am looking for - whether that's healthy sandwiches before a big meet or the tasty meatball sub that I treat myself with," stated Michael Phelps. "I was ready to take my Subway fan-dom to the next level - I really think of Subway as a champion food option."

It doesn't get much stronger than that. Do you think Subway franchisees are happy about this new development? You-betcha!

Papa John's Suspending Scheduled Franchisee Royalty Increase

 

For the first half of 2009, Papa John's said it was suspending the 0.25 percent royalty rate increase scheduled for January. It will also provide royalty relief and local marketing support for struggling franchisees or markets.

                                      The question:

Are any other franchise systems going to stall their plans for % increases in royalty payments? If so, would that be a good thing, or will it freak potential franchise buyers out?
