More and more niche franchise websites seem to be coming on to the scene, and they are getting more diverse as well. The internet enables marketers to really hone in on specific groups of consumers. Just look at Facebook. Matt Dickman, a friend of mine in the internet digital marketing space, discusses Facebook and MySpace here.
So if niches are the way to go, what groups should you go after, as a franchisor? You can target, the military, women, men, folks that want to "make a difference," folks that want to build an empire, and even folks who want to do something Green......
I have just found a website that is going after as niche that is really ripe for development. Before I link to it, let's see what the owner of the site had to say about this niche, and why he is going after it.

My background is within the minority business media. For 10 years, I worked for Minorities in Business Magazine and discovered my passion for diversity and fairness in the workplace. As a white gay male, I was always looking for something gay-business related and never really found anything and so I decided to take the bull by the horns and start it myself by creating Echelon Magazine.
With the experience and awareness of the minority business community, I sought to take that template and lay it over Gay Business thus forming GayFranchise.com to serve GLBT business professionals and connect them with gay-friendly franchisors.
The franchise industry has always been viewed as being conservative and redneck. I was very anxious to dispel that myth by starting our site in January of 2007 and start putting the word out. I did receive a couple of hang-ups and one guy actually said "hell no!" But my persistence paid off and now we are sporting over 60 franchises that want to do business with gays and lesbians.
